North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament
The 9-Man Festival, hosted by The North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament (NACIVT) celebrates the history of 9-man volleyball, a variation of volleyball that emerged in the Chinese American community when discriminatory laws excluded players from mainstream sports. There will be food, music, and local vendors gathering in Chinatown to celebrate the culture and community of the sport. An exclusive screening of the documentary 9-MAN will take place at 7:30 PM at Columbus Park.

Enjoy a double feature of two Vietnamese American documentaries: Sàigòn to Seattle (2025) and The Empathizer (2024), presented by the Wing Luke Museum in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnamese War. These two contemporary documentaries focus on the stories of Vietnamese-Americans grappling with their belonging and identity in both cultures. Following the screening of both films, there will be a moderated discussion with the filmmakers.
